CONFERENCE ROOM

jim

With the financial aid from MSAADA, a conference room was built at AVEGA Est. This is an income generating activity. The room seats a maximum of 120 people. AVEGA eastern region had one conference room, but this was not enough to meet demand. The conference room will be used for conducting of conferences, weddings, seminars, workshops, trainings and so on.
It is expected that with in a period of five years, the money spent on construction work shall have been recovered.
It is estimated that the room shall be rented at 50,000frws per day x 3 times a week x 52 times a year = 7,800,000frws (£7,800 approx.)
4,000,000 shall be used to assist widows and orphans who are needy, old or disabled in their respective social problems.
1,000,000 shall be used in maintenance and management work
The remaining amount shall be saved. This will start after two years. That is to say, in the year 2009.

EFFECTS

AVEGA shall be able to resolve various social issues that its beneficiaries encounter
It will lead to reduction of poverty of beneficiaries
Various people in the area shall be served thus develop the area
The amount saved shall be invested in other projects

FUTURE PROSPECTS

To use the income gained to assist beneficiaries from other regions as well.

TENTS AND CHAIRS

With the help of MSAADA also, two marquees and 200 chairs were bought. Both can seat 200 people.
Since tents are movable, they can be hired by who ever has a wedding, meeting, conference, rally, gatherings and the like.
These tents shall be rented at 100,000frws once a week. The income gained shall also be of great significance towards resolution of widows and orphans problems..

RE-INFORCEMENT OF THE CAPACITY OF THE INSTITUTION

Various instruments were bought in favour of AVEGA. These include: a computer for AVEGA Eastern region Coordinator. This led to easy communication and efficiency in work. Phones were also bought; one for the project manager and another for the coordinator. This eases the communication too.
MSAADA funded the eastern region coordinator's university fees for a period of two years. She is graduating as psychologist. AVEGA is in need of psychologists because of the deep trauma suffered by so many widows during the genocide.
MSAADA also pays part of AVEGA Eastern region coordinator's salary as well as part of AVEGA executive secretary's salary.
